Frederica C. Stines, MA
Deputy Chief of StaffFrederica Stines joined McSilver in 2017 as the Deputy Chief of Staff where she works closely with the executive team to carry out the Institute’s overall operations, finance and grants management.
Stines is a dedicated social justice advocate, especially on issues related to women’s and girls’ health and rights. Prior to joining McSilver Institute, she served as the Assistant Executive Director at Black Women’s Blueprint (BWB) where she provided oversight for programs and special events aimed at ending sexual violence against Black women and girls. From 2010 to 2014 Frederica served as a Program Officer at the International Women’s Health Coalition where she managed the Africa grants portfolio supporting activists and grassroots organizations working to advance the sexual and reproductive health and rights of girls and women in Nigeria, Cameroon and Kenya. Her experience includes serving as a research consultant with the United Nations Volunteers in Geneva, where she evaluated HIV/AIDS programs, and coordinating public relations and special events for the U.S. Fund for UNICEF.
In 2009, Stines co-founded the Timoun Lakay Foundation that supports health and educational programs for disadvantaged children in Haiti and in 2011, she joined the Haitian Roundtable where she currently serves as a Board Member and Co-Chair of the Program Committee. She is also the Board Co-Chair of The Dream Unfinished and an advisory member of the Haiti Adolescent Girls Network.
Stines holds an MA degree in International Policy Studies from the Middlebury Institute for International Studies at Monterey and a BA degree from SUNY Plattsburgh.
