MCTAC hosted an Adult BH HCBS Settings Training for OMH NYC Residential Providers on June 27th and 28th at the OASAS NYC Field Office. The training was offered 4 different times, twice on both days, and each session was identical in content.
Overview: The New York State Office of Mental Health is undertaking an expedited assessment of various OMH Adult Residential Programs to ensure statewide compliance with the Center for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS) Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) Federal Settings Rule. (42 CFR 441.301, et. seq).
All OMH adult residential providers will be required to complete a HCBS Settings Residential Program Assessment to assist OMH in determining what sites are currently compliant, thus making appropriate residents immediately eligible to receive HCBS. The results of this assessment will identify system-wide challenges and develop timelines needed to achieve compliance. During this training, State partners provided an in-depth walkthrough of the HCBS Settings Residential Program Assessment and answered questions regarding this process.
