Adult BH HCBS Settings Trainings for OMH Rest of State Residential Providers: these trainings were specifically targeted toward residential agency executives and residential program directors who operate housing programs outside of New York City. The trainings occurred in Buffalo (10/19/16), Hudson Valley (10/24/16), Syracuse (10/26/16), and Long Island (11/10/16).
Overview: The New York State Office of Mental Health is undertaking an expedited assessment of various OMH Adult Residential Programs to ensure statewide compliance with the Center for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS) Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) Federal Settings Rule. (42 CFR 441.301, et. seq).
All OMH adult residential providers will be required to complete a HCBS Settings Residential Program Assessment to assist OMH in determining what sites are currently compliant, thus making appropriate residents immediately eligible to receive HCBS. The results of this assessment will identify system-wide challenges and develop timelines needed to achieve compliance. During this training, State partners will provide an in-depth walkthrough of the HCBS Settings Residential Program Assessment and answer questions regarding this process.
Presentation slides and the OMH questionnaire can be downloaded below.
