This webinar offers a clinical perspective on how to utilize the Level of Care for Alcohol and Drug Treatment Referral (LOCADTR) Concurrent Review. This clinical perspective comes directly from two managed care medical directors, Philip Gianelli, MD, Medical Director at Beacon Health Options and Neeta Kher, MD, MBA, NY Senior Behavior Health Medical Director, Optum Health. As well as Marc Manseau, MD, MPH, Chief Medical Officer, NYS OASAS and Patricia Lincourt, LCSW, Associate Commissioner, NYS OASAS. This webinar begins by defining the process of continued stay and how to determine if current levels of care are still the most appropriate for patients already in a LOC. This includes evaluating the individual holistically, and considering all psychosocial and environmental determinants of their care. Additionally, this webinar emphasizes the importance of utilizing evidence-based practices like MAT during transitions in care, acknowledging the patient’s own choices in determining care, and the importance of collaboration between MCOs and providers.
